Envisio at the 2024 Annual CAMA Conference: Embracing Change Together

Envisio is thrilled to be heading to the 2024 Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators Annual Conference and General Meeting, held this year deep in the gorgeous mountains of Banff, Alberta! We are proud to be a Canadian company, and for so many of our team members in Vancouver, we’ll be right at home within the mountains.

The Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) is a national, non-profit association comprising over 800 City Managers, Chief Administrative Officers, and Senior Appointed Officials from across Canada. They champion excellence in municipal administration by providing members with opportunities for professional development, networking, and sharing of best practices.

This year, the conference will focus on the theme of “Embracing Change,” a concept that resonates deeply with our own ethos. Local and municipal governance is part of our everyday lives, and we have shaped our innovation philosophy around this reality. We want to make life a little easier for the folks who are running the show, and build trust with our communities along the way.

Here’s what we’re most excited about this year and where you can find us at CAMA.

Unconscious Bias, Strategic Starts, and Indigenous-Municipal Partnerships

We believe that embracing change is crucial for the continued growth and improvement of municipal governance. We provide municipal leaders with the tools and support needed to build trust with their communities as they adapt to change.

The year’s talks range from how to handle your first 100 days as a Chief Administrative Officer, to ways to challenge unconscious bias. Being an excellent administrator and leading a culture of change often means looking ahead to potential challenges, and keeping an eye on areas sometimes overlooked in strategy development—such as equity action plans.

But we are particularly excited about the focus on building better collaborative Indigenous-Municipal partnerships. We know from our work with Tiičma Enterprises, winners of the BC Indigenous Achievement Award in 2023, that doing the work to build trust and encourage such partnerships is critical work for pushing forward sustainability, development, and an ethical and just governing structure.

Please stop by and chat to us about any of the work we do in these important areas.

See You There!

We appreciate the role CAMA plays in fostering a culture of service and innovation within Canadian municipalities! We can’t wait to be part of this exciting event and contribute to the important conversations about embracing change in municipal governance.

See you there!
